Description:
Providencials Hospital – 40 bed hospital allowing for initial requirement and future expansion and providing a range of services including 24/7 emergency, 2 operating theatres, diagnostic imaging, LDRP maternity suite, dialysis center, pathology and amp: blood bank, physiotherapy, re-education, chemistry department, dentistry and mortuary.
Grand Turk Hospital – 20 bed hospital allowing for initial requirements and future expansion and providing a range of services including 24/7 emergency, operating theatre, diagnostic imaging, LDRP maternity suite, dialysis center, pathology & amp: blood bank, physiotherapy, re-education and dentistry.
Completion Date: December 2009
The facilities were open on time and on budget despite both hospitals suffering damage from hurricanes Hannah and Ike during the construction phase. Both Centers, now completed, are certified as storm proof to Hurricanes- Category 5.
Achievements:
• First integrated public-private healthcare partnerships (PPPs) in the Caribbean
• The hospitals received its first diamond accreditation by accreditation Canada international less than two years after opening
• The project won the “Latin American PP deal of 2008” awarded from project finance magazine and picked by KMPG and the infrastructure journal’s infrastructure 100 as one of the world’s most interesting projects
