Q-Terminals’ flagship facility, Hamad Port Container Terminal 2, Qatar.
Q Terminals is a global leader in the field of operating and managing ports and terminals, providing handling services for containers, bulk, general cargo, roll-on-roll-off (RORO), livestock, offshore supply and cruise ships. One of the key aspects of CT2 development is the use of environmental-friendly technologies to facilitate sustainable development. The quay cranes are regenerative types, which generate electricity during the lowering cycles. The rubber tire gantries are of hybrid type, which will be utilising electric drives along with the conventional engine.
The scope of work for this development included MEP construction, installation testing and commissioning, maintenance and operation of various facilities including utility as well as non-utility buildings such as substations, generator rooms, amenity buildings, operations building and pumping facilities as well as facilities such as equipment workshop container Pits, RTG washing facilities, land fuel station and reefer stack gantries.
In December 2020, Container Terminal 2 (CT2) commenced operations.
